Anglo-German Summer School – St Edmund Hall, Oxford, 15-23 August 2026
Applications for this year’s Anglo-German Summer School are invited from
- students currently attending a university in the UK who have completed at least two years of study,
- graduates who have graduated from a UK university in 2024, 2025, or 2026,
- PhD students currently enrolled at a UK university.
The working language of the summer school is English. There is no course fee for external participants. Board and lodging in shared accommodation at St Edmund Hall are included. Travel expenses cannot be reimbursed.
Applicants are asked to complete this online form until 1st March 2026.

Data protection
We, the Studienstiftung, protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection law, particularly the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
The following data will be processed for the purpose of selecting participants for the summer school and, in the event of your application being successful, subsequently for the purpose of conducting the summer school: name, gender, date of birth, nationality, address, email address, current educational status, date of graduation (if applicable), course of study, university you have attended, motivation for attendance.
The legal basis for processing is the execution of pre-contractual measures or the fulfilment of the contract concluded with you upon participation in the summer school.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Limesurvey GmbH; they will process your data as part of the questionnaire.
If your application is unsuccessful, your data will be deleted six months after the rejection has been sent. If your application is successful, we will require your data for your participation in the summer school. Even after the conclusion of the contract, it may be necessary to retain personal data of the contractual partner to fulfil contractual or legal obligations.
You can exercise your right to file a complaint either with the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia:
